The essence of the Yacht Community is a project that - for me - started in 2020 but has begun way before that, sometimes under different names. But the goal remained the same: get professionals to feel more connected with Yacht and other professionals. The connectedness has loads of benefits where keeping professionals happy, so they stay longer at Yacht might be the most important one.

An important thing to note is that the Yacht Community is a container concept for all the projects & initiatives that benefit the sense of involvement of the Yacht professional.

The Process

What is networking? Networking is making and maintaining contacts offline and online that can help you further in your work, career, and private life. That network is not only there for you, it is intended that others will also learn something from it. Networking is giving and taking. So you also help people in your network with information and new contacts and give someone just that tip about that one nice job that suits her well. That's how you help each other. The basis of a good network is trust.

 

Make it stand out.

  • Stakeholder management

    Because of the size and impact of this project, one of the most important parts of my work is collecting and managing expectations. This called for a stakeholder map.

  • Involvement of the user

    I have the luxury that the target audience of most of my projects is easily reachable, so gathering respondents for an interview or user test for this project wasn’t that hard.

  • Grow it.

    It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
