The project
This project has started as an experiment to find out a way to not only rely on consultants but also to help clients outside working hours.
Debriefing & research | Proving there is a problem
Before making all the effort, we had to prove that the problem statement was true. During this phase we found out that the real problem was not the offers but the quality of the requests from the client. This resulted in a customer journey.
“Sending an email is not of this time anymore.”
“I don’t care about scarcity; that is your (Yacht’s) problem.“
Design Kick-off | Listing the assumptions
During this session, all the relevant stakeholders came together to note down all the assumptions we had so we could test them on the way. This session consisted of:
Going through the research
Writing down our assumptions.
Creating the first set of research questions
Sharing inspiration
Creating a first user flow together
The solution
The solution is a self-learning product that helps clients write a valuable vacancy. This solution is based on the Randstad Taxonomy, where job titles and skills are connected & to millions of existing vacancies. Besides the vacancy text, the product also indicates a price range based on the seniority level & skills indicated in the vacancy.
Proving our solution | Prototyping & validating
In a total of 5 design sprints, I did a week of prototyping and then a week of user testing + interviews together with UX researcher Myrthe ten Bosch. After those user tests, I processed the relevant feedback into the prototype to be tested next week again + we came up with new research questions. This resulted in the last and final prototype: a chatbot. This last deliverable is the input and proof for the next phase: the building phase.
Proving it’s generating value | Getting AI involved
In this phase, there was less involvement of UX, because of the complexity of the product & the research & development that had to be done. After that, sadly the project got canceled due to Covid-19.
